Pre-defined filters are like pre-defined search criteria. Currently, you can filter by:
- Forums
- Sub forums
- Topic Type
- Post since Last Visit
- Advanced Filters
Forum Filters
This criteria filters and displays all topics associated to a specific forum. You can also go ahead and filter the topics further using other criteria like Sub
forum,Topic Type or Post since last visit.
To filter from a forum:
- Go to Recent Topics page.
- Click on All Forums drop-down to choose the required forum. It displays the list of topics available in the particular forum.
Sub forum Filters
This criteria displays the topics available in a particular sub forum. Further, you can use the Topic Type or Post since last visit criteria to refine your search result.
To filter from a subforum:
- Go to Recent Topics page and choose the required Forum from All Forums drop-down.
- Select the required Sub forum from right-panel to view its topics.
Note: You can also choose from the Sub Forum drop-down, available in Horizontal menu bar.
Topic Type Filters
This
criteria displays the topics related to a specific topic type. You can also use the Post Since Last Visit criteria to narrow down your search results.
To filter from topic type:
- Go to Recent Topics page.
- Choose the required Topic Type (Ex: Discussion, Question etc.) from the Topics drop-down list.
You can view the list of topics related to the selected topic type.
Post since Last Visit
This criteria displays the topics where recent activities are performed, since your last visit to the specific portal.
To filter from last visited time:
- Go to Recent Topics page.
- Choose Post since Last Visit criteria from the Topics drop-down list.
All topics related to the selected criiteria is now displayed. Advanced Filters
In addition to "Predefined" Filters, Zoho Discussions provides you with an Advanced filter option, which allows you & your users to quickly identify the topics that are more relevant for them. With this option, you can filter topics based on topic types, topic status and also filter unreplied posts easily.
To use advanced filters: - Go to Recent Topics page.
The advanced filter options will be displayed below the top menu bar. - Choose relevant topic type to view topics associated to the specific type.
- Click on the drop-down link corresponding to a topic type to view the lists of topics based on the specific status.
- Click on Unreplied posts link to view the topics that are yet to responded.
